English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the this year's Young Sports Personality of the Year award.

The trio have been recognised for their remarkable achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a unprecedented innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The shortlisted athletes were announced live on a widely-listened-to radio show.

This year's winner will be announced during a live broadcast on the annual sports awards show on the 18th of December.

The show will be aired from seven in the evening GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to European Championship victory.

She came off the bench to score key tying goals in both the last eight and last four matches.

These match-saving moments led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the best young player in Europe.

She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"Being nominated for this award is an honour," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler kicked off the year in incredible form as - aged 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

And he wasn't finished there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, shattering the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for the honour once more is a big honour," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a special memory for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin came in second place in the batting rankings and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be nominated for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it encourages more young women to get into cricket."
