English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the upcoming Young Sports Star of the Year award.

The three finalists have been celebrated for their outstanding achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a record-breaking innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The shortlisted athletes were announced live on a popular morning radio program.

This year's winner will be announced during a live broadcast on the Sports Personality of the Year show on Thursday, 18 December.

The show will be aired from seven in the evening GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

A mere three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She was introduced as a substitute to score key tying goals in both the knockout stage games.

These match-saving moments led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the top young European talent.

She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"Being nominated for this award is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

The Darts Prodigy

The year started for Littler in spectacular fashion as - while still 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.

And he wasn't finished there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the very first time.

At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, smashing the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for the honour once more is a big honour," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a proud moment for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and surged to prominence with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.

Perrin came in second place in the batting rankings and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be nominated for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it encourages more young females to get into cricket."
