Diving into an Unique Steam Demo: Playing as a Piece of Feces on a Quest to Arrive at the Toilet
Steam Next Fest is now live, and players have encountered a variety of engaging independent titles. But, one stands out for its unconventional concept. Called Unko Technica, this old-school styled platformer includes a character that is literally a turd striving to travel to a commode. As a fun fact, "Unko" means "poop."
How you interact is straightforward: just use a single jump button. In 150 challenges, encounter tough enemies and visit a store to purchase skins for your dung hero.
Plan your actions precisely, as a error forces starting over. Bounce on floating orbs to hurl your character to new heights, traverse disappearing ledges, and activate triggers to open secret routes. Gather currency to purchase tougher game content as things gets crazy.
Graphically, the experience shows off neon level designs and a killer music score. The retro graphics with moving geometric shapes may remind players of beloved games like Earthbound.
Although difficult to name other games where you play as a coiled turd, interactive entertainment frequently included fecal matter. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, you can craft explosives from protagonist excrement. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use manure as fertilizer. And of course, fecal references is present heavily in the role-playing game The Stick of Truth.
Regardless of its goofy idea, Unko Technica has already received notable recognition, like taking top honors at a major publisher's GYAAR Studio in 2023. A playable preview is accessible currently on Steam, with the full game scheduled to debut on Steam in the fall.
